Segue Youth Choir
Ministry In Transition
se•gue (pronounced: seg-wey): to make a transition from one thing to another smoothly.
Segue is a one day, high-energy event for youth choirs who are transitioning to the next level of ministry. Music selections are very accessible for beginning and intermediate level choirs. This experience will provide the interaction and inspiration students need to launch their choir ministry to the “next level.”

Learn More About Segue
Since 2012, Segue Youth Choir Festival has been uniting the voices of students in praise and worship. Segue Youth Choir Festival exists to nurture and encourage youth choirs of all sizes and styles to grow in their spiritual commitment and musicianship in an atmosphere that nurtures authentic Christian community. The day includes high energy rehearsals led by some of the finest choral directors in the region, creative worship experiences and devotions, relationship building times of fellowship, and an inspiring worship concert in a beautiful worship space at the end of the Festival. Segue was birthed by the vision of Dr. Larry Dickens, sponsored for many years by Campbell Divinity School, and has been sustained by the dedicated work of participating Ministers of Music and Worship.
One of the core values of Segue Youth Choir Festival is the selection of outstanding music that gives glory to God, inspires and encourages students, and meets the needs of the participating churches. Each year the repertoire includes a hymn arrangement, a Christmas anthem, a spiritual/contemporary selection, an accessible work of a master composer (“classical”), a “challenge” piece, and at least one 2 or 3 part composition. As many as 175 youth have gathered each year to join their voices and hearts to share in the joy of Segue.
The culminating experience of Segue is the Worship Concert, which is well attended by friends and family members from the participating churches. Most years the Worship Concert includes a guest Honor Choir in addition to the main Segue Festival Choir. The hope is to create a transformative worship encounter with the living God through hymns, scripture, prayers, and the spoken word combined with choral anthems.
