David Cole
Minister of Music and Organist • The First Baptist Church, Henderson
Music and church have always been at the center of my life. In fact, nearly every childhood memory I have revolves around one or the other. So, when it came time to choose my career path, church music made the most sense. I started my college years at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, finishing with a Bachelor’s degree in Church Music with a concentration in Organ. Then, I went to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama to complete my Master’s in Church Music with a concentration in Voice. Since finishing school, I have served churches in Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, and in the triangle area of North Carolina. Having grown up not too far away in Raleigh, I have long been aware of the amazing music ministry at First Baptist Henderson, and was so excited to begin work here in February, 2018!
Outside of church music, I enjoy accompanying and singing with several community choirs in the triangle area and playing in the orchestra pit at McGregor Hall.
When I’m not involved in music, you can find me sitting beside my wife, Tiffany, watching our two children, Lillian and Sam, doing whatever is their current sport or activity of the season!
