Adam Fitzgerald
Minister of Youth and Families • Wake Forest Baptist Church
Adam has lived in the Raleigh area for the last 12 years and has a true passion and calling for youth ministry. Having grown up as the son of a church Music Minister, he also really enjoys music and participating in choirs and values the sense of community and belonging that comes with being part of a youth choir. Adam has served churches in volunteer youth ministry roles for over 15 years including serving as an Interim Minister of Youth & Missions. He has also helped to plan, host, and lead youth worship and retreats for various church Disciple Now Retreats, Fall Retreats, Ski Retreats, Rafting Retreats, and Summer Mission Trips (both domestic and international).
Regarding his philosophy of ministry, Adam shares: "I believe that all youth should feel empowered and called to live out their faith in an authentic way that will make a difference in the world. I also believe in creating an environment where youth feel an innate sense of acceptance as a child of God and a place of belonging and safety. I love to walk beside students as they explore their faith, discover their gifts and callings, and provide fun & engaging opportunities for youth to put their faith into action. Most importantly, I find joy in helping youth to recognize that who they are right now is exactly what God had in mind when they were created – and that they were created to help change the world. I'm so excited to spend the weekend [of Segue] learning, growing, and sharing together!"
When not involved in youth ministry or music programs, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife Brenda (also a former youth minister of over 15 years), their nieces and nephews, and their aussiedoodle, Gus.
